University of Minnesota Libraries

"We understand the world by asking questions and searching for answers.

Our construction of reality depends on the nature of our inquiry."

Start with the following steps for success while researching and writing any project:

Step 1: Determine topic and scope.

Step 2: Conduct preliminary research. Design search.

Step 3: Find sources: articles, book, web sites, etc.

Step 4: Evaluate results. Find additional sources.

Step 5: Write and cite sources using appropriate style.
